Kobe Bryant starts each morning with meditation for 10-15 minutes. Kobe says that it “sets him up for the rest of the day. That it’s like having an anchor”. In December of 2015, he told Robin Roberts of Good Morning America that he realized he was coming to the end of his career during meditation. “I try to have at least 15 minutes of still time and just kind of sit in my thoughts in the morning and just kind of meditate. Spotlight on Meditation: Russell Simmons

The Philanthropist, activist, entrepreneur and author practices yoga and meditates twice a day. Yoga opened the door for Simmons to meditate through being more present. Soon thereafter, Simmons went on to practice Transcendental Meditation. Simmons has authored several books about his life and how meditation and his plant-based eating have improved his life. Two of Simmons books have included forewords by President Donald Trump. Simmons has also opened his school of yoga science, which is called Tantris Yoga Studio, in L.A. Simmons has a meditation app as well, called Meditation Made Simple. Zazen: The Posture

Zazen posture is a balance between using your body’s physiology to relax and focus. Zazen is practiced while seated on a round cushion known as a zafu. The positions of the pelvic and hip bones are key. The correct balance is achieved when sitting on the middle of the zafu with both knees planted firmly on the floor.   Zazen and duality Posture is about obtaining the right state of mind. Maintaining Your Zafu

Whether you have a zafu from NadaPada or any other company, you’ll want to maintain your zafu to have it forever. It doesn’t take much but a little bit of care goes a long way. Usually you’ll have two cases for your zafu. An outer case and then an inner case. If buckwheat hulls spill over outside of the inner case, they will ‘poke’ out of the outer case. You’ll be able to feel it. This can happen in the manufacturing process or if you open the inner case and some hulls spill over. You’ll want to get these hulls out of there and keep things clean.
